Trafalgar Park - Nelson
A total upgrade of the park was agreed upon and work soon began. Originally, Spunlite Poles had provided the lighting towers many years ago at a time when Rugby first became a professional sport. A high level of lighting was required to enable a quality image for television coverage of the matches.
With the introduction of High Definition television and New Zealand's successful bid to host the Rugby World Cup in 2011, a greater level of lighting was required to satisfy HD cameras broadcasting New Zealand to the watching world on their HD televisions. Spunlite Poles was once again called upon to offer its expertise in flood lighting tower design, engineering, manufacture and on-site assembly.
The end result providing a rugby park worthy of any international competition with facilities well and truly able to cater for the teams, the viewing public, corporate functions and a flood lighting functionality suitable for delivering the city of Nelson's Trafalgar Park to the rest of the world in high definition.
